Michigan Divorce Statistics

Michigan divorce statistics:  Statistics is a mathematical science pertaining to the collection, analysis, interpretation or explanation, and presentation of data.1 The following links will direct you to Michigan vital statistics as to divorce rates. Almost every state has a vital statistics division that will report divorce statistics.

StatisticsRemember, statistics can be tricky. For example, in 2005 the State of Michigan reports 61,108 people got married and 34,580 divorced. Dividing these figures may lead you to conclude that the divorce rate is 61,108 ÷ 34,580 or 57%. However, this simple division compares apples to oranges inasmuch as it is not true that 57% of marriages in 2005 ended in divorce in 2005.
